This policy applies to variousbearious.site and, where stated, Lemons Tell No Lies apps published by Leslie Boyce under the Various Bearious name.
1. Overview
This site is deliberately privacy-light. It does not include user accounts, advertising, behavioural analytics, a newsletter, a contact form or first-party tracking cookies.
Visiting the site does not require you to provide a name, email address or other profile information.
2. Information collected by this website
The site itself does not intentionally collect personal information from ordinary visitors. It uses local files, local artwork and local JavaScript rather than third-party advertising or analytics scripts.
If analytics, forms, mailing lists, crash reporting or other data-collecting features are added later, this policy will be updated before those features are enabled.
3. Lemons Tell No Lies app data
Lemons Tell No Lies game builds may store game progress and preferences locally on your device. Depending on the release, this can include saved progress, tutorial and animation settings, music preferences, unlocks, Lemon Rinds and cosmetic selections.
The current design does not require an online player account and does not intentionally send this local game state to Various Bearious. Deleting the app or clearing its storage may erase those saves and unlocks.
If a future release adds cloud saves, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, online accounts or multiplayer services, this policy will be updated before those features are enabled.
4. Netlify hosting and technical logs
This site is intended to be hosted by Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps and security-related logs.
That infrastructure processing is controlled by Netlify under its own terms and privacy documentation. Various Bearious does not use those logs to build advertising profiles.
5. External links and services
The site links to external services, including Amazon UK for the novella. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices and cookies.
This site does not currently embed Amazon widgets, third-party videos, social feeds or advertising trackers.
6. Email contact
If you email variousbearious@gmail.com, the message and contact details you provide will be used to read and respond to your enquiry. Correspondence may be retained where reasonably necessary for follow-up, record-keeping, security or legal obligations.
Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary.
7. Children’s privacy
The site is not designed as a service for children and the novella includes mature themes, strong language and psychological distress. Various Bearious does not knowingly create profiles of children or intentionally collect children’s personal information through this website.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Because this site does not maintain visitor accounts or analytics profiles, there may be little or no personal information held by Various Bearious about an ordinary visit.
For a privacy request, email variousbearious@gmail.com. Enough information may be requested to understand and verify the request.
9. Security and retention
Reasonable steps will be taken to keep any direct correspondence secure and to retain it only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was received, or as required for legal and security reasons.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site, games and release channels develop. The effective date at the top of the page will change when a material update is published.
